From Camberwell to Casablanca

On this week's show we talked about Camberwell and some of the famous people that were born there.
There's a couple of men who went on to star in some of the most acclaimed films of all time who have their origins in Camberwell.
Richard Haydn appeared in 'Mutiny on the Bounty', 'The Sound of Music' and 'Young Frankenstein' but is probably best known for his performance as The Caterpillar in Walt Disney's 1951 adaptation of 'Alice in Wonderland'.




Claude Rains made his name in early horror films such as 'The Invisible Man' and 'The Wolf Man' and went on to appear in 'Mr Smith Goes To Washington', 'Notorious' and 'Lawrence of Arabia'.
He played Captain Renault in 'Casablanca', featuring in one of cinema's most famous scenes.
