Pick of the Week

We've put together a selection of some of the highlights among the events taking place in South  London this week...

First up the BFI is screening a season of films from Werner Herzog, including classics such as 'Aguirre, Wrath of God' , 'Even Dwarfs Started Small' and  'Woyzeck'.
Even if you've seen them it's worth popping over for some of the documentaries that are being shown that just don't turn up on DVD.

Full details of the screenings can be found here.

On Thursday the South London Folklore Society will be hosting their monthly meet-up at The Old King's Head on Borough High Street from 8pm.
This month the evening will be devoted to contemporary folk songs from Nigel of Bermondsey and entitled 'London: Gemini City'.

Full details can be found here.

Also on Thursday, and also in The Borough, is the weekly poetry night 'Bang Said The Gun' at The Roebuck in Great Dover Street.
We had this event recommended to us by Bridget Minamore on a recent show and they've just picked up a gong for 'Best Regular Spoken Word Night 2013' at the Saboteur Awards.

Full details can be found here.
