Young Americans (1975)

Having left Glam behind Bowie's next album was an exploration of what he described as 'Plastic Soul'.
What did continue was Bowie's practice of surrounding himself with brilliant collaborators, which here included Carlos Alomar, Andy Newmark, who had worked with Sly and the Family Stone, and a young Luther Vandross.
The album also contained some collaborations with a post-Beatles John Lennon but it was the new funk-infused line-up that Bowie brought along to perform the title track on the Dick Cavett show.
