Event Horizon (2007)

The 1960's saw the opening of the Hayward Gallery, the Queen Elizabeth Hall and the Purcell Room to complement the Royal Festival Hall and the South Bank Centre, as we would know it today, took shape.
The opening of these new spaces reaffirmed the area as a showcase for the arts and opened up the whole complex as a forum for public art.
One of the more striking pieces in recent years was Antony Gormley's 'Event Horizon' which saw 31 figures cast from Gormley's body in iron and fiberglass placed on buildings along the South Bank with the Hayward Gallery operating as a spot for viewing them...
