Episode 45: Thamesmead on screen


In the late 1960s architects and social planners created Thamesmead, a town-sized council estate. From its opening to the present day filmmakers have used the area's concrete landscape as a backdrop. 

We're joined by Midnight Video's Jim Hall to discuss ASBO superpower drama Misfits,  Stanley Kubrick's dystopian masterpiece A Clockwork OrangePeter Sellers vehicle The Optimists of Nine Elms and homantic comedy Beautiful Thing.
